1953 (Click caricature once or twice to read more easily.) Pat Abbruzzi was shown in this Providence Journal's Frank Lanning caricature. A Small College All American, Hall of Famer Pat was voted Rhode Island's Outstanding Italo-American Athlete of the Year for both 1953 and 1954. (In 2002 Pat was elected to the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame, joining, at the time, fellow Warrenites Luther Blount and Hall of Famer Lizzie Murphy. Three years later he was inducted into the Rhode Island Interscholastic Hall of Fame.)
